A Cessna A185F Skywagon operated by the Sheldrick Trust crashed yesterday morning at the Tsavo National Park, southern Kenya, killing with two fatalities according to the Kenya Wildlife Service.
The Cessna A185F registration 5Y-DHS is said to have been undertaking routine patrol before it crashed at Huri plains on boundary of Tsavo East National Park and Galana ADC killing celebrated and reknown pilot Mark and his son the co-pilot Peter Mark.
The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT) is one of Africa’s oldest wildlife charities and a leading conservation organization, which embraces all measures that complement the conservation, preservation and protection of wildlife. Among illegal activities by poachers in the Tsavo East National Park include snaring for the bushmeat trade, ivory poaching, livestock encroachment and the cutting of trees for timber and to make charcoal.
