Skyward Express has today launched weekly fights from Wilson Airport, Nairobi to Kakamega Airstrip (Western Kenya) days after Kenya’s President William Ruto commissioned the airstrip’s was newly rehabilitated runway commissioned the airstrip’s was newly rehabilitated Runway
According to the airline the flight is expected to strengthen the Lake Region Economic Bloc & Kakamega’s position as an entry point into Western Kenya.
The inaugural flight was flagged off by Kenya’s Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Transport Kipchumba Murkomen, Kenya Airport Authority managing director Alex Gitari and Skyward Express Chairman Capt. Mohammed Abdi.
Skyward Express currently operates daily scheduled passenger services into Mombasa‚ Lamu‚ Eldoret Lodwar‚ Diani/Ukunda and Malindi from Wilson Airport.
