The national airline Air Algerie has announced the opening of a direct route linking Algiers s Houari Boumediene Airport (ALG) to Johannesburg (South Africa) OR Tambo (JNB), with two (2) nine and half hour’s flight weekly (Sunday and Thursday) as of September 21.

The expansion is part of the governments plan for the airline to enhance its fleet and global network. Other targeted cities include: Douala (Cameroon), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Hong Kong (China), Libreville (Gabon), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Abuja (Nigeria),New York (United States of America), Caracas (Venezuela), and Havana (Cuba).
