Air Tanzania has received its First Boeing737-Max 9 in a ceremony held at Julius Nyerere International Stadium (Terminal 1) Dar es Salaam making it the first African operator of the 737 MAX 9 variant.

Honorable guest, Vice President, Dr. Philip Mpango represented the President of the United Republic of Tanzania Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan at the event held on October 3, 2023.

According to Air Tanzania the aircraft will enable it expand to new routes including Pemba, Tanga, Mafia, Musoma, Changwea and commence night operations in various airports including in Dodoma and Songea.
