The Egyptian Space Agency has announced the successful completion of the official duration of NExSAT-1, Egypt’s first experimental Earth observation satellite. Developed in collaboration with German company BST, this project has significantly advanced the agency’s expertise in system engineering, software development, satellite assembly, and operation.
Egyptian Space Agency says the last two years were pivotal for the Egyptian team, working closely with BST, developed the first complete onboard software, attitude control algorithms, testing setups, and GCS station software. The project culminated in a successful commissioning phase with BST, followed by independent operations of the Egyptian satellite.
“NExSAT-1 is a significant milestone for the Egyptian space program, paving the way for future advancements in satellite technology. It exemplifies our commitment to innovation, international collaboration, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
We’re also thrilled to share the first image captured by NExSAT-1’s High-Performance Onboard Computer (HPOBC), utilizing software developed by our dedicated team. This photo symbolizes two years of hard work and collaboration, and we extend our gratitude to our partners at BST and our Egyptian commissioning phase operation team for their invaluable contributions.”
