748 Air Services UN Chartered Plane Crash Lands at Mogadishu’s Aden Abdulle International Airport

The Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) has reported that a United Nations chartered Dash 8 DHC8 402 belonging to Kenyan operator 748 Air services crash landed at the Aden Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu, Somalia on 31st March 2025.

The crash landing by the Dash 8  with serial number 4013 and registration number 5Y -SMJ according to the statement by SCAA occured at approximately 1328HRS local time  after a forced reurn to the airport shortly after departure and was enroute to Baidoa.

“However, due to a technical issue, the aircraft was unable to land at its destinantion and was forced to return to Mogadishu,” the SCAA said in a statement.

Emergency response teams were immediately dispatched to the scene and necessary measures employed to ensure the safety of those onboard. Investigations are now underway.
