Uganda Airlines CEO, Ms. Jenifer Bamuturaki has been elected as President of the Africa Airlines Association (AFRAA) and will now be in charge of presiding the association’s Annual General Assembly in 2023.
She takes over from CEO of Air Senegal, Mr. Alioune Badara Fall during the 54th AFRAA Annual General Assembly held in Dakar, Senegal this week bringing together 456 delegates from 42 countries including African airlines, civil aviation authorities, airport companies, air navigation services providers as well as aircraft & engine manufacturers, component suppliers, and other service providers.
The just concluded assembly called upon African airlines & air transport stakeholders to act on initiatives & strategies that will drive sustainability to realize the sector’s potential. Other areas of focus included: the Air Transport Sustainability Roadmap, the effective implementation of the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM), the Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA), and the Free Movement Protocol.
